Diabetes Foot Care

Specially trained diabetes nurse educators provide foot care services for individuals living with Type 2 Diabetes.

These nurses aim to reduce foot complications associated with diabetes through early intervention, regular monitoring and proper treatment of foot related concerns.

Services offered:

  • Foot care education
  • Foot risk assessments
  • Basic foot care treatments including nail care, corns and calluses reduction
  • Consultation and referrals to chiropodists in high risk situations

Service eligibility:

Must be a client of the diabetes program (DECNET) and referred by a DECNET nurse educator (following a foot assessment).

Services are available:

  • English, Mandarin, Cantonese and French (interpretation in other languages available as needed)
