Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is branch of rehabilitative medicine that focuses on relieving pain, maintaining function, and quality of life for individuals with chronic diseases and or physical injury. Physiotherapy practice uses a variety of techniques to help achieve client and therapist goals. These may include exercise, education, manual therapy, acupuncture, and pain relieving modalities.

Many of the clients that have accessed physiotherapy at SRCHC have been able to achieve their goals of returning to work, reduce their need for medication, and maintain independence.

The physiotherapy model of care is not only individual client care but also includes group-based care such as the annual chronic pain group and low back fitness group.

The target demographic for physiotherapy services are those individuals who have barriers to accessing physical therapy care elsewhere. These include but are not limited to new comers to Canada, individuals between the ages of 19 and 65, and individuals without private insurance or are unable to afford private physiotherapy care.

Service Eligibility:

At this time, physiotherapy services are only available to internal clinical clients of SRCHC. This means that you need a referral from one of the medical doctors, nurse practitioners or chiropodists at the Centre.

Please speak to your provider if you are in need of physiotherapy care. For more specific program information, please contact us.
