The COVID-19 crisis has been tough on everyone, but we can’t imagine how hard it has been on our most marginalized clients and volunteers. People living on the streets have nowhere to go inside to stay warm this winter and no access to free hot meals. Many of our clients and volunteers with housing live on fixed incomes. More than 50% of our clients live on $25,000/year or less. Many people cannot afford to buy winter gear.

Between 2013 and 2018, the number of people using Toronto shelters increased by 69% (from 4,806 to 8,134). Some people are waiting for weeks to get into shelters, and others are avoiding them for fear of catching the virus living in congregate settings. People who are homeless need your help; with your generous donations, we will purchase cold weather supplies and clothing to help people stay warm.
