Announcement from the Board of Directors

June 3 2019 – Announcement from Board SRCHC to External Partners

June 3, 2019

It is with mixed emotions that I announce Lynne Raskin’s retirement from her position as Chief Executive Officer at South Riverdale Community Health Centre (SRCHC) effective September 5, 2019.

Lynne has been an exceptional leader who has advanced a thriving organization over the eighteen plus years she has been at SRCHC. Lynne’s visionary leadership has established SRCHC as a highly respected organization and community partner collaborating through dedication and empathy to advocate for marginalized communities. She has championed SRCHC priorities to advocate for and create spaces for the voices of individuals and communities who have often been invisible. Some examples of this work include: initiating a robust chronic conditions program, renowned as a Centre of Excellence; responding unequivocally to the refugee crisis; advocating for environmental issues like removing asbestos from the walls of local schools; establishing an internationally acclaimed Harm Reduction program including a Safe Consumption Service; and, without hesitation supporting the erection of the first Overdose Prevention Site in the province in response to the drug overdose crisis.

While the Board is sorry to see Lynne go, we feel strongly that her leadership has resulted in the creation of a resilient organization, well positioned to continue advancing the vision of empowered, healthy and thriving community where everyone belongs.

The Board has a plan in place to search for a new CEO and ensures a smooth transition in leadership. Over the summer the existing Senior Team will continue to direct the work of the organization under Lynne’s leadership.

Over the next period of time we will keep our partners and communities informed as to upcoming opportunities where we will recognize Lynne’s contributions to community health locally, provincially and internationally.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Lynne for her leadership, commitment to South Riverdale and the full range of communities with whom we work. We wish her all the best in her retirement.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Steven Little
President, Board of Directors
