Over the past five decades, we’ve grown alongside our community. From modest beginnings to a vibrant health centre offering primary care and community programs and services, we’ve learned, adapted, and evolved together. New faces have joined us, new challenges have emerged, and new ideas have taken root. And through it all, the values that inspired our founders — equity, social justice, and compassion — continue to guide our work and shape who we are.

Fifty years ago, South Riverdale Community Health Centre began as a shared dream —shaped by neighbours, advocates, and a belief that everyone deserves care, dignity, and a place to belong. What started as a bold idea quickly became something real: a community-driven space built around people, their stories, and their hopes for a healthier future.

50 Years · 50 Faces celebrates the people who bring South Riverdale Community Health Centre to life. Clients, staff, community partners, and Board members share their lived experiences, their perspectives, and their dreams. Together, their stories reflect where we’ve been, what we care about, and where we’re headed next. We’re beginning with a handful of profiles and will continue adding new faces and stories throughout the year, building toward 50 voices that reflect the richness and diversity of our community.
As we mark fifty years and begin dreaming forward, we do so with optimism and purpose. We look ahead to new possibilities, new connections, and new ways of working together — building on a strong foundation while imagining what the next half-century can be. The story continues, and we’re excited to see where it leads.
