In 1976, a group of neighbours came together around a simple idea: everyone deserves a healthy community. That grassroots energy led to the birth of South Riverdale Community Health Centre, which opened its doors with a team of just three staff members. Since then, we’ve grown with our community, adding new services, locations, and supports for people who are often underserved by traditional health care.
Over the decades, we’ve provided primary care for people who have fallen through the cracks of our health care system or have had challenges accessing the quality care they need and deserve. We launched harm reduction programs and expanded care for newcomers, seniors, and people living with chronic diseases.
From four clients on our first day to more than 15,000 unique clients a year, our story is one of listening, learning, growing and showing up – year after year.
