- Do I need a health card or ID to get help?
No. You don’t need a health card or ID, but our staff can help you obtain both. You also don’t need a fixed address to use our services .
- Is there a supervised consumption site at your facilities?
Yes. We offer a supportive setting with trained staff who can respond right away if there’s an emergency.
- Is it free?
Yes, our space, resources, and counselling are free.
- What kind of health care can I get access to?
We can treat wounds, infections, and help with pain or general checkups. You don’t need to see a doctor first or book an appointment to use our services.
- Can I get supplies?
Yes. We offer a range of free sterile supplies that reduce the risk of contracting communicable blood borne infections.
- Can I talk to someone if I’m having a hard time?
Yes. We have skilled staff who are here to listen and support you.
- What if I want to stop using substances or cut back on use?
You can talk to us anytime about quitting, treatment, or other support. Our trained staff will make sure you understand all your options. We won’t pressure you no matter what you decide to do.
- What if I don’t speak English well?
We understand that language can feel like a barrier to receiving care. Let us know the language you prefer and we will try to accommodate you. We do our best to provide interpretation or translated materials when possible, and we’ll work with you to make sure you feel understood.
- Will this be kept private?
Yes. We don’t share your information unless you say it’s okay, or in very rare situations where safety is at risk.
- I heard some substance use sites are closing. Are your services still open?
Yes, we offer support at one site, providing care for people who are at risk of overdose death. If you aren’t sure what resources or supports are available, reach out and we’ll walk you through it.
- Do you provide Hepatitis C Virus support?
Yes. We can provide testing, treatment, support, and education if you are living with Hepatitis C or are at risk of acquiring it.
- What services do you offer at your Moss Park Consumption and Treatment Service site?
We offer the following through our Moss Park Consumption and Treatment Service:
- Health care: primary care, testing, wound care, vaccinations, and referrals
- Supervised consumption: overdose response, supplies, and naloxone training Health care: primary care, testing, wound care, vaccinations, and referrals
- Mental health and counselling: mental health programming, stress management techniques and teaching, crisis help, and connections to services
- Practical support: help with forms, housing, ID, legal needs, and system navigation
- Community care: healthy snacks, a place to rest, social activities, and family support
- Addiction care: addiction counselling, referrals to addiction medicine providers, detox, and treatment
- What services do you offer through the HART Hub partnership?
The HART Hub partnership offers a variety of health care services, mental health and addiction counselling, crisis support and referrals, psychiatric services, day programming, addiction medicine and day detox. We can also help with case management, voluntary trusteeship, access to housing options, and more.
