Safer Opiate Supply (SOS)

The Safer Opioid Supply Program (SOS) addresses the overdose crisis by transitioning people away from toxic and contaminated street opioids to pharmaceutical grade opioids.

South Riverdale Community Health Centre is one of 4 sites in Toronto currently offering an SOS Program. Our site is part of the Downtown Eastside Collaborative—which includes Street Health and Regent Park Community Health Centre.

All programs are funded by Health Canada’s Substance Use and Addictions Program (SUAP). Referrals for potential clients are received through community partner agencies such as Moss Park OPS, Fred Victor, etc. Self-referrals are not accepted at this time.

The program is staffed by Nurse Practitioners, Community Health Workers, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Program Support Workers and a Program Manager.
