- have trouble sleeping or relaxing
- worrying too much about your baby’s health or
- have scary thoughts and feelings
- are experiencing the “baby blues” or postpartum depression
Talk to your primary healthcare provider for a referral to our Postpartum Adjustment program.
This program is offered at our health centre on 955 Queen St. East, once a week on Mondays from 1:00PM-3:30PM in conjunction with Toronto Public Health, Alternatives (East York Mental Health Counseling Agency), Michael Garron Hospital and the South East Toronto Family Health Team.
All sessions are planned and facilitated in English, by a Social Worker and Registered Nurse, each lasting 12 weeks. 8-12 new mothers attend each session. Common issues addressed include feeling sad, feeling overwhelmed, anxious or alone. One-on-one support is provided by the Nurse or Social Worker as needed, throughout the week
A session involving spouses of the participating mothers is organized every 12 week to coordinate care and support between program and respective families
Free childcare and snacks provided for program duration
Mondays – 1pm to 3:30pm
