Good Food Market

Good Food Market

The Good Food Market is a community, volunteer led initiatitve, in partnership with Foodshare, that strives to increase access to fresh, quality food at affordable prices. A Good Food Market (GFM) is a small non-profit market that sells high quality, affordable fruits and vegetables. GFMs bring healthy produce to neighbourhoods where it might not otherwise be available, and where farmers' markets are not viable because sales are too low to cover costs.

Good Food Markets feature seasonal local produce plus imported favourites to offer the greatest quality and cultural value to the neighbourhood they serve. Each market uniquely reflects its community and is a vibrant and important gathering place providing opportunities for neighbours to meet, share information and celebrate. Join us at our 2 locations throughout market season (May to Oct):

Program Locations and Hours:

  • Tuesdays from 2-6pm at South Riverdale Community Health Centre, 955 Queen Street East
  • Wednesdays from 2-6pm at Eastview Neighbourhood Community Centre, 86 Blake Street.

Market Volunteers

We are also looking for volunteers to help prepare and hand out the food at the markets (food prep takes place starting at noon on market days). Volunteers will receive $8 vouchers to use at either Good Food Market. Potential volunteers are asked to drop by the South Riverdale CHC Good Food Market on Tuesday to learn more. Ask for Antonio.
