English Diabetes Classes
A registered dietitian and diabetes nurse educator help you learn how to feel better and avoid unnecessary complications from diabetes. Family and caregivers are welcome. Childcare and TTC tickets are available on advanced request.
Classes include:
Level 1: Introduction to Diabetes Management
1 session (4 hours)
Topics include:
- what is diabetes?
- healthy eating
- physical activity
- blood glucose monitoring
- foot care
- stress and emotions
- short- and long-term complications
- insulin and medication
Level 2: Advanced Diabetes Management
Level 1 topics in more depth 1 session (4 hours)
Program Eligibility:
Individuals with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes; family or caregivers.
