Chinese Cancer Support Group

An educational program that offers guidance and mutual support to Chinese cancer patients and their families.

The group is led by a Chinese-speaking outreach worker. Health professionals such as doctors, cancer nurses, pharmacists, radiation therapists, dietitians and social workers are invited to make presentations and answer questions.

Participants learn about:

  • eating well
  • managing pain and nausea
  • how to ask for help
  • community resources
  • treatment and alternatives
  • peer support

Eligibility:

Chinese-speaking adults with cancer, caregivers and family members.

Languages:

  • Mandarin
  • Cantonese

Hours:

Group usually meets on the 2nd Tuesday afternoon of every month.

Appointments:

Not required.
